Characters in search of a plot?
They queue outside the pharmacy. They come in. They mingle. They discuss their personal problems with Galya, who runs the place. On the floor, under her feet, lies her estranged, alcoholic husband. A young girl, carrying a double bass, looks quietly interesting. Someone else is carrying a large fish in a string bag.
Other than a gallery of eccentrics, the film has an agenda, the secret of which is never disclosed. Galya has to deal with a drunk. The girl with the double bass is looking for something (what?). The fish carrier is nagged by his wife. A depressive romantic wants a love potion. A lean man, smartly dressed, wearing shades, hovers menacingly.
Nothing leads to nothing, Nowhere stretches to nowhere. The mystery remains unsolved. And the cinematography is exquisite.
